RIP Sheldon Brown 14 July 1944 - 3 February 2008

I don’t even know where to begin. Sheldon Brown died.
While searching online for recumbent schematics, training wheels, and possible trailers for my bike, I came across a notice regarding the death of, without a doubt, one of the most helpful people I’ve ever had exposure to regarding bicycles.
I’d stumbled across his site while searching for instructions on how to ride a bike and how to pick a good one out. Prior to then, I’d no knowledge of his existence but, on a lark, I figured I’d e-mail him and ask a few questions. I never actually expected a response. He graciously went into great detail about the choices I’d had picked out on Craigslist up until that point and, without even seeing me and based on the answers to the questions he asked, figured out the perfect bike size and frame for me. I took that information and a few days later found the perfect bike. AASHTA.
For that alone, I owe him a great debt of gratitude and I offer his family and friends my deepest condolences.
Rest in Peace dude. May your work be an ongoing resource for enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
