I ran across this article on a ‘No God’ Slogan Bus Advertisement Campaign while reading through some of the days top stories on BBC News via the site.
That’s not the funny bit though. That comes a bit into the article when the comments of an opposing voice are published.
But Stephen Green of pressure group Christian Voice said: “Bendy-buses, like atheism, are a danger to the public at large.
“I should be surprised if a quasi-religious advertising campaign like this did not attract graffiti.
“People don’t like being preached at. Sometimes it does them good, but they still don’t like it.”
My first thought when I saw this was…’was this a backhanded validation of vandalism…’ but then, when I re-read his comment, it dawned on me that he invalidated his own preachy [sorry, couldn’t resist] attitude.
Yes, being chased about and preached at when you’re REALLY not interested can be quite annoying, I agree…
Seriously, many thanks go to all sane religious people out there who respect and advocate a philosophically/religiously plural society.
