Please forgive the state of this blog. I was so angry over the Picasa fiasco, that I deleted my pictures from the Google servers. I am now repopulating the images into the blog posts. Given that I’m a verbose silly person, this is going to take some time to fill the hundreds of posts I have with images in them. I do have all my pictures though, so it shouldn’t be a problem just replacing the html with the new links to images.

It’s just going to take some time.

Incidentally, I’ve decided to upload to WordPress.com directly. They’ve changed a bit since the last time I looked into hosting my images here. With a little bulk resizing, thanks to FastStone, I’ve now got 2gb of pictures down to a little under half that size. Given that I haven’t used all the photos I uploaded originally to Picasa in posts, this should be sustainable for the short term. When it gets to the point where the allotment is full, I’ll just try to make an allowance to purchase a premium account. Crying face

It’s going to be very interesting seeing if I can scrounge up the $99 per year to do this. I really love my blog though, so, I’ll have to make a way.

Unfinished Projects Loading…

I didn’t get even half of what I wanted to accomplish completed by the end of 2015. This means that everything rolls over into 2016. Yay.

I am presently working on or will soon be working on in no particular order:

  • João’s Hello Kitty Hat
  • Blodeuwedd The Hat for me
  • Little Boy Blue Blanket
  • Shimmer Stole
  • Handschuhe Times Two: Bruce’s Gloves
  • Cosmos Doily Madness: Doily Three
  • Rainstorm II Socks
  • Child-bearer’s Cardigan
  • Boba Fett Amigurumi Doll
  • Baby Groot (2)
  • Rose Doily #804
  • Be a Friend/Have a Heart Shawl
  • In Love With Color Throw
  • Bigger on the Inside Shawl
  • Gloves for myself
  • A scarf for myself
  • Villimarjatar Shawl
  • Large Pineapple Doily

In addition to these, I wish to make several socks patterns from the book Think Outside The Sox. I also have several requests for items coming in that I’m definitely going to prioritize. Cashy money. One thing is for sure. Agoraphobia be damned, 2016 will be the year I finally go to Cloverhill Yarn Shop. I am regularly in the Catonsville area nowadays and I no longer have the excuse of not knowing where it is or how to get there. So, if I need yarn, I’m going to my LYS for a change.

So, the new year is now well underway. I’m looking forward to finding kindness, intelligence, humanity, and humility in this upcoming year. Oh, who am I kidding? It’s an election year. I’m going to carefully avoid the jingoistic rhetoric as much as possible while researching jokers…characters…candidates to see who is worthy enough for me to hold my nose and make my choice in the voting booth.

Let’s see. Not much happened over the Holidays in my home. Except for meeting an amazing person via OK Cupid who is ridiculously far away from me. Other than that, it was just ham, writing, and watching the tomatoes grow in the Aerogarden. NaNoWriMo is long over with and I’m still writing Forsaken Paladins. For anyone coming to my blog for news about the second part to the story I wrote back in 2006 and recently posted, I’m currently working on it simultaneously with another, separate, collaborative effort. Holding three stories in my head is an interesting experience. I just hope none of the storylines blend together as the stories are quite disparate. Right now, I need to find a good work/sleep/relaxation balance because trying to be everything to everyone is proving exhausting.

The plants are doing well, both Aerogarden and non-Aerogarden. Except, perhaps, for one pineapple plant. I have several tomato flowers and fruit coming in despite the near constant high temperatures in my room. I’ve closed the air vent off so as to prevent the heat from damaging my plants but, so far, everything looks good for the most part in spite of the lack of humidity. I’m really shocked at this too considering some of the plants normally affected. The Lemongrass alone should show some signs of damage given that it’s right near the vents but it’s actually growing like a weed.

Today is Saturday. The second Saturday of the month. I’m going to give over a good portion of today to spend quality time with The Maternal Parental. Between talking with my new friend and writing, I’ve really been isolating myself over the past few months and that’s not good. So, today is a day of fun and relaxation. We’re probably going to watch a bunch of movies and talk a bit. I really enjoy the conversations I have with the Maternal Parental. She’s got a perspective on life that’s quite unique.

Onto my reading list. Holy Molybdenum. I got almost nothing done reading wise in 2015, so that rolls over to this year as well. I’m also getting a steady stream of recommendations that I’m going to add to my Goodreads as fast as my fingers will allow me to. I finally got a Carl Sagan book late last year and managed to get Darwin and a few others from Project Gutenberg.

Last, but certainly not least. The Agoraphobia. I am by no means cured. I’ll probably never be effectively “cured” of this particular ailment. It’s as interwoven in my personality as the Bipolar Disorder, the PTSD, and the Anxiety. It’s just there at this point, a part of my make up. I’m finally learning to live with it though and get through it to the other side of productivity. With few exceptions, I’ve made it to appointments and meetings over the past few years. That’s something to be proud of. I aim to go further and have plans to get out of the house more. I’m also restarting my fitness schedule.

Now, I’m going to sleep after this rambling escapade. Good night/morning.

My Personal Marathons

As noted in my previous post, I’ve been quite busy recently. Really, it’s all just my subterfuge to get away from doing the leg work I should be doing for NaNoWriMo. I’m intensely nervous about making a flaming Olympus Mons of crap writing, so I’ve been avoiding getting ready by diving into projects.

Well, I’ve messed up my “go to” crocheting project enough that I have to frog it and start over and I have an unfinished knitting project sitting on my soon to be decommissioned desk. As of this afternoon, I’ve successfully finished a project (Amigurumi Adipose) I’ve been putting off since 2012 and I feel it’s now time to buckle down and get my mental state prepared for NaNoWriMo.

Hello, World. What think you of my Adipose Baby? It took me only a few hours to do despite all the procrastination I put forth in making it. I remember a time when I was putting forth an effort at fighting this tendency in myself. I really must reignite the war against my bad habits.

At least I didn’t procrastinate on this any further than this. I still have enough time to come up with something passable to write by November.

After eleven years, this rickety desk is going out of my life. It is a secondhand hand-me-down from a neighbor who moved out of our previous residence who sold the Maternal Parental a love seat when we had no furniture to speak of. I’ve bad mouthed this table a lot over the years and cursed its existence but it really has been there for me as a constant presence. I’m going to miss the splinters, the near constant threat of my computer and other items crashing to the floor, the sticky drawers and all the other little things that will probably come to mind as I’m putting together this desk’s replacement.

Speaking of the replacement. I am getting a South Shore Annexe Home Office Computer Desk in Pure Black to match my bookcases, which are also South Shore. It’ll be nice having a stable desk with some space. I’m still trying to figure out how the internal stuff is going to be rearranged, as it only has one drawer, but I’m sure I’ll make it work somehow.

You see, this is the beginning of a redecorating plan for my room and, to a lesser extent, my home. If this decommissioned desk is wanted by the Maternal Parental, she’ll have a desk to sit and write at in her room. All I’ll need to do is get her a chair and floor mat. Update: She doesn’t want it. Saves me some money.

From there, I’m doing the shocking and unbelievable for me. After nearly ten years, I’m getting a bed to sleep in. I know! Shocking! I’m so used to the floor, it’s going to be so weird sleeping above that level. I’m reconciled to it though. I have everything for this endeavor picked out too, from the mattresses (Daybed with trundle) to the bedding to the pillows.

I am also getting rid of the Brown Battle Beast and its table in some manner. Even if it’s just putting it in the closet. In all honesty, I don’t use it. It’s just taking up space, collecting dust, and being a stand for various plants and my lamp (which is also going out of here). I don’t have all the parts to it, so selling it is not a likely scenario but if someone did make me a good offer on my circa 1950s 301a Singer Sewing Machine with table, I wouldn’t refuse.

After that is taken care of, I am going to save up and buy the Maternal Parental an Ikea sofa and two lamps she likes as a gift.

About the only other things I’m getting myself are a floor lamp and a second printer stand for my room. The floor lamp will be to replace the lamp currently sitting on the Brown Battle Beast’s table and the printer stand will be a matching one to the one currently holding the Aerogarden of Hope, only it will be for my actual printer.

Without going into too much detail… (looks up at the preceding and laughs) …there are going to be a few changes in my life over the next few years which require I rearrange things in my room and life drastically. How’s that for cryptic vagaries?

About the only other thing happening right now is Jalapeno pepper population explosion. I shook the pepper plant a few times, not really expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised today to find several peppers already developing. I know one isn’t supposed to compare children but I really wish the tomatoes would perform like this. One can only eat so many jalapenos before one gets tired of them.

That is all. Enjoy your day. Be well.
